The High School, Srirangam was started way back in 1896 by Sri. Veeraraghavachariar. It is now 114 years old. This is now run by the Trust known as “Srirangam Educational Society”. At present this Trust manages the following 7 schools –
The Higher Secondary School for Boys, Srirangam - Aided School
The Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Srirangam - Aided School
The High School, Tiruvanaikovil - Aided School
The South Ranga Middle School, Srirangam - Aided School
The East Ranga Middle School, Srirangam - Aided School
The Aranganayaki Primary School, Srirangam - Aided School
The Kalaivani Nursary and Primary School, Srirangam (self financing English medium School)
The Govt. gives maintenance grant only for certain limited activities, that too limited to Elementary and Middle Schools. The grant received is a pittance, compared to the actual expenditure.
The Govt. has now forbidden the management from collecting additional fees from the students for any purpose over and above the stipulated amount.
For the upkeep of these Schools, the management has to depend solely on donation from the public and well wishers. The management plans to create a corpus fund, keep the fund as “Fixed Deposit” and use only the interest from the fund for the upkeep of these Schools.
Our School is our Mother and it is our bounden duty to see that she is healthy and in good shape. We make an earnest appeal to all the old students of the above mentioned Schools and also to the Citizens of Srirangam and philanthropists who are looking around for a genuine cause to give back to society, to donate liberally towards the corpus fund. Donations are eligible for exemption under section 80 G of Income Tax act.
Mighty oceans are made up of tiny drops. Every contribution, small or big, one time or in installments, is most welcome. Contributions can be in the form of Cash, Crossed Cheques or Demand Drafts made in the name of “SRIRANGAM EDUCATIONAL SOCIETY”.
Please write your Name, Address and Telephone Number on the reverse of the Cheque and mention “DONATION FOR THE CORPUS FUND” (or ensure the details are handed over along with your contribution). Temporary receipts would be issued immediately. A permanent receipt would be issued soon after the payment is realized and would be sent by post to your address.
DONATIONS can be handed over to any of the Committee members of the Srirangam Educational Society or any of the HMs of the Schools.
You may also directly credit your contribution to the Savings Bank Account maintained by the Society in the -
